Exploring the possibility of giving the Prime Minister the option to select technocratic ministers, decision-makers selected on the basis of their knowledge and experience in their respective field, from outside of Parliament, therefore not having to be elected in the general election. This would ensure that whoever is responsible for a ministry is actually knowledgeable of the matters at hand, not a political appointee looking to pander to his or her voters and on getting reelected once again.
For starters, this can be used for parliamentary secretaries.
It's about time we are governed by a qualified lot.
