Use of Sick Leave

A person who has a serious, possibly terminal, illness (such as cancer) who requires extensive treatment, is dropped down to half pay when his sick leave is used up. This person has to resort on the goodwill of his colleagues to donate him/her their sick leave. Shouldn't the government set an example and stop the reliance of people in need on charity? A sick person has enough worries; sick leave should not be one of them.

Points

The state should support persons with serious illnesses until they are fit to get back to work. These people should not be requested to rely on charity,
